Rooney wants Fabio to be England Legend

Manchester United and England start Wayne Rooney says he is ‘delighted’ by the appointment of Fabio Capio as England manager and wants to help the Italian become a ‘legend’ with England.

Rooney believes Fabio can restore pride to the England side after the disasterous Euro 2008 campaign.

“I’m interested to meet him and work under him. His record is brilliant at club level, so I’m sure he can help bring something extra to England as well. I was pleased when he was appointed actually because having a record like his is the main thing. As an Englishman you want the best man for the job who is going to help us win trophies. Personally I think he is the best man.”

“Hopefully we can win something for him and help him become a legend for England. A country with the talent we’ve got, we should be up there challenging for the main two trophies. We can’t look back. A country like ours surely can’t go two major tournaments without qualifying. We have to make sure we do everything right and everything properly for World Cup qualification”

Wayne Rooney speaking to the Daily telegraph today.

I think Capello is gona do g8 for England. Rooney and Walcott up front!

  2. i hope fabio can win the world cup this year, and im excited at the fact england can win. id love to be able to have a footballing chat with capello and get across my case in a basic tactical guideline to use in the world cup. my belif of first, the primary formations that can get through to the final is as follows.

    GK: Kirkland
Completely cursed by injury, only recently getting games but very talented keeper. I believe having faith in this keeper could earn him a huge opprtunity to gain a considerable reputation… I believe he could become the keeper of the competition especially with the defence in front of him.
    CB: Terry Ferd
    Standard combo
    LWB: ACole
    Standard
    RB: Richards
The second largest risk behind Kirkland, but is getting better and playing alot of games for an improved mancity team. Again could become the right back of the competition. Extremely competitive and strong, like bull. He has great athleticism and youth fitness, and will love getting forward, overlaps with beckham and driving into the box, also provides presence in the goalmouths.
    RW: Beckham
The third largest risk but with becks you always know what your getting, and his link up play with the midfield would prove sensational and deliver crutual goals. His muscle on the right will be funamentally backed up by Richards and Gerrard. Sounds perfect to me.
    ALM: JCole
Again plagued by injury but now back and will be playing games for chelsea. His behind, will be covered by cole2 who is in the same club and will know each other well. Cole also can provide crutual goals, always works 100% and is very confident at the moment.
    M: Carrick
Its out of carrick or barry. but personally i think to win the world cup you need a team that constantly drives forward, and this team is all about that, carrick has proved very important for manu over the seasons and would be one to shine given this opportunity.
    M: Lampard
Standard, the driving force behind chelsea and technically in another world alongside messi.
    AMCR: Gerrard
    FC: Rooney
Gerrard is far better used up front, so why not make the world cups strongest team with two of the top10 world players when on form play upfront together. Rooney will aways provide effort and defence, with gerrard drifting into midfield roles, they both like each other, and could prove a horrificly confident partnership.

This team is all about confidence, quality, drive and ambition.. all these player possess these and are playing good football for their clubs.

Injuries are always going to be a part of the world cup and england could have such a strong squad and bench. The second strongest upfront partnership for me would be crouch and rooney. this especially with becks on the wing. crouch and beckham would provide handfuls of crutual goals. crouches confidence and personality.. amazing. plus crouch has proved his creativity in the game to try and get on the same wave length as rooney or gerrard! hes your man to play alot of games with missing players to win this tournament. The rest for me would depend on future performance. The players ive listed for this are proven tournament-winning players and so are the below to my opinion.. if staying consistantly fit, should get a ticket.
    S1: Crouchy
    S2: Barry
    S3: GNeville over GJohnson
nevilles a world class bossy right back, and playing many solid games for united.
    Will always score goals
    S4: Lescott
    S5: Bridge
    S6: James
For me not as naturally talented as Kirkland. Although in event of replacement james has alot of experience and safe periods involving brilliant saves in his recent career.
    S7: SWPhillips
always committed to the challenge, great team player for this team. Great bench attacking option.
    S8: Defoe

I know that Fabio Capello has done a lot 4 England’s national team and i really respect him for, but i totally disagree with his decison of sacking Michael Owen for the upcoming WC matches knowing that after a really long time that he is at the epitome of his career .He’s fit and is showing real positive signs of getting better even at this stage of his career. i seriously plead Mr. Capello to reconsider his Team for the WC finals.
